New for 2009 Season, Cobra launches the L5V driver! Already the driver has been road tested by the cobra staff players and is set to be there longest and straightest driver to date. Cobra say the multi-material L5V not only has the largest, most forgiving club face in golf, it also features there new Adjustable Flight Technology. All of this gives you the power and versatility to maximize your personal distance. This can be achieved by changing the hosel sleeve with the wrench provided to change 2 settings. The (0) setting is standard and the (1) setting gives a slight draw Bias. So if you?re struggling with a left to right ball shape simply change the setting to (1) and let the L5V head give you the confidence to hit a more powerful and longer draw shape shot. All this technology combined with the lightweight carbon composite head and low CG to that gives ultimate MOI means this club is truly at the forefront of technology as you get massive forgiveness and massive distance!

Staff Review: Cobra L5V

A first impression of the Cobra L5V as we unpacked it was its sheer head size…its HUGE! 13 % bigger than the previous model but on first glance it appears almost 50% bigger, we will just have to trust the Cobra engineers on this one. The head size will immediately give you serious confidence at address as this beast sits ominously behind the ball. Cobra state that the L5V driver is the longest and most forgiving driver they have ever produced which is a very bold statement as we have tested many cobra drivers and they all do exactly that.

The extra key feature found on the Cobra L5V driver and what separates it from earlier models is that you can position the head in either a natural setting or draw bias. This can be done very easily with the wrench provided. On test we opted to try out the draw bias to start with and within minutes we were hitting serious right to left shots, in fact that’s all we could hit as the draw bias setting really close’s the toe in at address; perfect for the slicer!! Back to the neutral setting the Cobra L5V really feels different than any other from the current cobra collection but it really packs a punch at impact, it has that loud ‘cobra’ sound but not nearly as off putting as the some of the LD series drivers.

Forgiving…? Yes indeed, no need to worry if your not on you’re ‘A’ game or suffering from a late night before a Sunday medal, the Cobra L5V’s head size and sweet spot will do the work for you. The L5V Driver will suit all standards of golfers and considering the technology found in this club its price point is extremely competitive.
