Mizuno Irons are almost always made from a high grade pure mild carbon steel. Mizuno irons have been aimed at the lower handicapped golfer in recent years but with the introduction of the MX series, all golfers are able to enjoy the forged craftsmanship found in Mizuno irons but with the added forgiveness of a Cavity or Cut Muscle head design. If you want to experience a soft forged feel from a set of Mizuno irons but need the added forgiveness from a perimeter weighted club then take a look at the MX-25 and MX-900 models.
The Mizuno MP collection features true blade irons such as the MP-33, MP-37 and MP-67 models. These Mizuno irons are aimed at the very low handicapped golfer, blade irons require very central strikes out of the sweet spot, when you do the results are unparalleled which is why Tour Pro's like Luke Donald have them in the bag.
Mizuno engineers have also devolved in recent years a Mizuno iron that has similar characteristics of a blade iron, a thin top line and narrow sole but have a cut muscle design. The cut muscle design creates a smaller cavity than normal perimeter weighted club but is much more forgiving than a traditional blade, perfect for mid to low handicapped golfers. Mizuno iron models that incorporate this technology are the MP-60, MP-57 and MP-52.
