The new and improved fairway from ping comes the G10 following from the ever successful and popular G series range. The Ping G10 Fairway Woods are engineered with a crown that intersects the sole to create a low profile head that combines with a shallow face for improved performance from all types of lies. The intersection of the crown and sole results in a skirt-less design which allowed PING engineers to reposition mass for a lower center of gravity location. The low center of gravity (CG) is achieved by positioning a large weight pad on the sole. The weight pad is formed from discretionary weight repositioned from the crown, face and hosel. The location of the CG provides higher ball velocity and reduced spin.
Staff Review: PING G10 Fairway Wood
The Ping G10 fairway is now in stock and ready for testing!
The G10 fairway has a much more shallow face design which we really like as straight away it makes getting the ball airborn much easier as it sits much tighter behind the ball. The G10 fairway comes with many shaft options and is also available with a draw head option. The club head feels very stable at impact giving much room for off centre strikes as the large sleek G10 fairway head is probably the most forgiving head we have tested. We can see every standard of golfer using this club as it is so versatile, forgiving enough for the high handicap golfer but still gives the better golfer enough feedback and workability to create an array of shot shapes. We feel the key to ensure the G10 fairway performs best for is to get the correct shaft combination. The Ping TFC 129, UST Proforce V2 and Grafalloy Prolauch Red will greatly changes the ball flight so testing the combinations out first is a must. Once you have the correct setup we are confident the G10 fairway will not leave your bag for some time!
