About Callaway FT-5 Neutral Drivers & Callaway FT-5 Tour Neutral Drivers
Callaway FT-5 Neutral Driver
Used by USPGA Callaway staff player Phil Mickelson. The Callaway FT-5 460cc head is available in 3 options. The FT-5 Neutral helps to produce a right to left result. Fade to prevent hooks and provide a left to right shaped ball flight. Neutral, for players wanting maximum ball flight playability. Using the ever improving fusion technology Callaway engineers have devolved a massive 50 grams of discretionary weight which helps shape control, accuracy and greater distances. That in conjunction with the Callaway FT-5's carbon composite body material allows the weight to be moved to where it's needed most. The Callaway FT-5 Neutral driver is the perfect option for any golfer wanting to control those wild slices.
Callaway FT-5 Neutral Staff Review: We tested the Callaway FT-5 Draw and FT-5 Neutral side by side to see if Callaway have improved from the previous fusion models. The first look and appearance of the FT-5’s are the larger head size over the Callaway FT-3. This immediately gives you that little more confidence at address. The FT-5’s Carbon composite head means that more weight has been spread the heel and toe creating a more forgiving club which is clearly evident when tested on the range. The face on the FT-5 definitely feels more lively and ‘hotter’ than previous fusion drivers so the result is certainly more yardage. Where the FT-5 comes into its own is the when comparing the different weight bias heads. The FT-5 draw option really does exactly what it says on the tin. For golfers who struggle with a horrible slice you must give the FT-5 draw a serious consideration as the internal weight really promotes a right to left ball flight. The FT-5 Neutral was certainly the one for golfers who want that option of what shape the want to hit. The head sits very neutral at address which will suit the low handicap golfers. The Fujikura FIT ON 150 shafts work nicely with the FT-5 drivers although the general feedback was that the standard stiff flex didn’t seem very stiff. Overall we feel Callaway have stepped up a notch from the FT-3 driver and we can see why so many Callaway Tour Professionals have them in the bag.
