The new Callaway FT-9 driver will set new standards in the driver market:
The Long awaited Callaway FT-9 driver is finally here for the 2009 golf season and it looks simple stunning. The Callaway FT-9 Draw driver is designed to straighten up those left to right tee shots withs closed club face and interanl weighting. Furthermore, the FT-9 draw driver has a new Hyberbolic face technology ball speeds of the face have been taken to a new level which in turn give even massive carry and distance. The Callaway engineers have packed the FT-9 full of there legendary Fusion Technology that creates maximum perimeter weighting and more discretionary weight by combining a carbon composite body with the titanium face cup. This allows for precise positioning of the Center of Gravity to increase stability on off-center hits and enables ball flight customization for perfect shot control. The FT-9 can have 3 factory setup positions, these include a draw weighted model which helps golfers who shape the ball left to right or with a slice. The neutral model is for the more accomplished golfer who wants to create a variety of different shaped shots. Finally the Tour model features a slightly open face angle and produces stronger, more penetrating trajectories preferred by low handicapped golfers and of course tour players a like. The standard FT-9 will come fitted with a Fujikura Z-Com 60 unless otherwise stated.
Callaway FT-9 Driver Staff Review: Its here…its big, its beautiful! The Callaway FT-9 driver is available to buy. After much anticipation we headed straight for the range to see if lived up to all the hype. The Callaway FT-9 driver has a very conventional appearance compared to other drivers available in the Callaway range. Firstly at address it feels much bigger in head size when sat along side earlier FT models. Straight away your confidence grows and the FT-9 driver sits comfortably behind the ball ready for action. Previous FT driver models although impressive they still lacked the forgiveness and were very much aimed towards the lower handicapped golfer. Not so with the FT-9 driver as we feel it’s as forgiving as any other driver Callaway have to offer, now we know why Callaway have been making so much noise about it. Speaking of noise, the Callaway FT-9 driver is very quite and the feeling of the face is controllable so less of the explosive feel but yet still explosive distance. In general we preferred the overall trajectory and flight over the previous FT driver models and as its much more forgiving it will appeal pretty much any standard of golfer. Not to mention the FT-9 is available in Draw and neutral option’s and array of lofts up to 13 degrees. The FT-9 Tour driver is almost identical in looks however some internal weighting and slightly heavier shaft produce a much lower ball flight so will be best suited to the faster swing and high impact golfer. For the more adventurous golfer the FT-9 in the I MIX format is also available. This allows you to interchange the shafts with a special wrench as you feel necessary to create the ultimate custom fit Callaway driver. (Please note any Callaway I MIX drivers will be supplied with the shaft detailed in the specification list and image) In closing, the Callaway FT-9 driver is probably the most up to date driver on the market that will appeal to every standard of golfer so don’t feel put off by the top professionals using them on the TV, the FT-9 is to be enjoyed by everyone.
