Cleveland CG14 Chrome Wedge. Designed with zip groove technology to give tour like spin. This is done by milling the grooves to the maximum depth allowed to conform to the USGAR&A rules. Using the most up to date machining processes Cleveland golf engineers used proprietary CNC mill bit to create envelope stretching geometry. Giving the Cleveland CG14 wedges zip groove wedges the most precise and consistent technology to date. The yellow insert seen in the back of the Cleveland CG14 wedges is a known as Gelback technology which is a lightweight, visco- elastic and vibration-damping material. This gives the player the necessary feedback from the club head whilst removing any vibration from miss hit shots. Available in a black pearl or chrome finish the Cleveland CG14 wedge is fantastic looking and tour performing wedge.

As rated by tour professionals as Cleveland’s best wedge from bunkers we had high expectations on test.
Firstly, the appearance of the club is very different than previous Cleveland wedges as they have introduced a GEL BACK insert to produce a forgiveness element to the wedge. At address however it looks just like any other wedge as the gel back insert is hidden from view giving you a traditional classic looking Cleveland wedge.
How did it perform???...
The larger sole design really helps with consistency out of the bunker as we had no trouble in popping balls out from all sorts of lies. In terms of spin from the ZIP Grooves we were again impressed and even on poor strikes we still got a degree of spin. The gel back insert really dampens any unwanted vibration at impact. The Cleveland CG14 ball flight is also worth mentioning as we found it to fly a little more penetrating than previous models. Overall, we preferred the Black nickel finish model over the chrome model as it gave us slightly more feel on mod range pitch shots.
A worthy addition to Cleveland’s ever growing wedge range so if your grooves are wearing a little thin on your old wedges then certainly take into consideration the CG14 model.
